Insurance Times Awards 2011
(Finalist - Loss Adjuster of the Year)

Merlin is proud to be named a finalist in the prestigious Loss Adjuster of the Year category at the 2011 Insurance Times Awards. Merlin has a rich history of success within this category, having won the award in 2006 and 2007 as well as being a finalist for the past 3 years.
This year’s entry focused on the successful implementation of Merlin’s innovation Escape of Water Hub. The Hub was created in response to the winter surge of late 2010, and has been leading the market in re-shaping the handling of claims in line with the dynamic needs of weather based surge events.
Russell Crewe, Loss Adjusting & Claims Services Director at Merlin commented “The Hub has become an integral part of our Loss Adjusting division, delivering a superior and seamless approach to the way we handle Escape of Water claims. The success of the Hub is down to the team, who have shown outstanding commitment and drive through both the surge and the months that followed.”
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in December in London.
Manchester Insurance Awards 2011
(Finalist - Claims Initiative of the Year)

Following the success of Merlin’s innovative Subsidence Model at the UK Claims Excellence Awards, we were delighted to be recognised and named finalists at the 4th Annual CII Manchester Insurance Awards. The awards which were held at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester in October aim to recognise local contributions to the Manchester Insurance market and emphasis professionalism and ethical practices within the region. .
The judges praised the initiative as being "an impressive subsidence claims management model offering lower costs, reducing life cycles and improving customer service"

UK Claims Excellence Awards 2011
(Winner - Claims Management Team of the Year)
In May 2011, Merlin was awarded winners of the ‘Claims Management Team of the Year’ category at the UK Claims Excellence Awards in association with Insurance Times.
Merlin’s Subsidence team, entered the award for its fresh and innovative approach to handling Subsidence claims, and proved successful over stiff competition from five other finalists.
The Merlin TCMS Subsidence model was sponsored through development by Chief Technical Officer, Kevin Wood, who along with Subsidence Claims Manager, Dave Clare presented the new model to a judging panel, which was welcomed with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Kevin Wood said of the win “our Subsidence Hub and Avalon are really turning heads in the market, and this award proves even further that we are truly providing something new, innovative and better than anything else available in the market today.”
The ceremony was also attended by Client Development Director, Alex Kilpatrick and Head of Subsidence, Mike Dupelycz. Mike commented “The Hub team has embraced the changes made with vigour and enthusiasm, making the product the success it is today. This win is a testament to their hard work and commitment to making a difference in the Subsidence market.”
Opening the evening Insurance Times publishing director Shân Millie said: "There is a well-known saying that you can tell a lot about someone by the company they keep – take a good look around you. I’m sure you will agree that the company you are keeping tonight is the cream of the UKGI Claims ‘crop’ for 2011. Anyone who’s ever entered an Insurance Times Award knows just how strict a process we follow, and how hard it is to become a finalist. As individuals, teams and organisations, you’ve already achieved so much. Congratulations to you all."

National Training Awards 2010
(North West Winner)
In September 2010, Merlin was the proud winner of the North West Regional Training Award and named runners up in the National Training Award, just narrowly missing out to large supermarket chain Morrisons.
The National Training Awards are billed as the premier accolade for training and development within the UK and in 2010 they attracted more than 3,000 entries.
Merlin's award entry was built around the creation of two intelligent Service Centres from scratch in just 15 months, whilst delivering clients and policyholders a market leading service. In December 2010, Merlin was delighted to be named a finalist in the ‘Loss Adjuster of the Year’ category at the prestigious Insurance Times Awards. The award submission highlighted the innovative Merlin Subsidence Hub model and whilst narrowly missing out on the night, the nomination further cemented Merlin's reputation for breaking new and exciting ground through the delivery of market leading innovations.

Claims Technology Awards 2010
(Winner - Most Innovative Use of Software - Claims Management)
In May 2010, Merlin Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Wood was more than delighted to be called to the stage at the Claims Technology Awards to receive the award for 'Most Innovative Use of Software - Claims Management'.
Merlin's submission focussed on the Total Claims Management Solution (TCMS) model, whilst demonstrating how Xactware assist in optimising the claims process through our Service Centres, Loss Adjusting, Surveying skills and managed contractor network. The judges recognised Merlin's unique operating model and when combined with the use of Xactware technology, it has brought significant reduction in indemnity spend, and gives clients and policyholders total transparency of each individual claim, at whatever stage it is in the claims process.

Merlin was very proud to be the recipient of the’ Loss Adjuster Initiative of the Year’ award at The British Insurance Awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on the 8th July 2009.
The criteria required the demonstration of a 'creative responses to a changing market, coupled with quality of service and an innovative approach to claims problems'. Merlin's submission highlighted the achievements of Merlin and how it has evolved from a traditional Loss Adjusting company into a multi-faceted Total Claims Management Solution and Loss Adjusting Services group.
