AMG Group Companies Responding to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Claims

04/03/2008

AMG has been instructed to investigate a serious incident of carbon monoxide poisoning in the south of England.

On the morning of Thursday 28th February 2008 two residents in a Housing Estate run by a large Housing Association were found to have died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. The emergency services were immediately notified and closed down the entire estate whilst further investigations were undertaken.

AMG have been instructed to deal with the Property claim and whilst there is no apparent damage we have been asked to assist with the re-housing of 100 families on a short term basis. Sigma Claims Solutions have been instructed to investigate the potential claims for the fatalities and any other injuries that may arise.

Andrew Dear of AMG commented "The initial need to find alternative accommodation for up to 100 families did appear challenging but we have been able to resource this and were able to direct the Housing Association so that housing could be found for that night and any following nights at very reasonable rates".

Owen Gorman of Sigma Claims Solutions said "Clearly this is a distressing incident and one which will require sensitive handling and close liaison with the Health and Safety Executive. At this stage we are aware of two fatalities but it is unknown if any others have suffered as a result of this incident. The exact circumstances with regard to the poisoning have to be established before we are able to make any comment on Legal Liability".
