New IT and Projects Director

Ian Maudsley has been appointed IT and Projects Director He is one of the first senior appointments to be made since the company merged the three individual brands - AMG, Carr Greenwoods Smith (CGS) and Sigma Claims Solutions - to become Merlin Professional Claims Services on June 6th 2008.
Ian will be responsible for all of the group's critical infrastructure throughout a network of regional offices, and will be undertaking an immediate review of the company's needs as it looks to embark on a major investment programme to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations.
"My priority will be looking at how we can provide even further support to our loss adjusters out in the field, including full remote access to enable them to work from home or any office as suits their needs," Ian says. "I will also be leading a project to bring greater automation to certain workflow processes within the business where we believe further value can be added."
Ian started his career as a commercial trainee for a Yorkshire-based lift company, specialising in IT. He spent several years designing bespoke systems for clients such as Flymo and the St Austell Brewery Company for a leading software house, prior to joining Euler Hermes UK, a company of Allianz, in a senior IT capacity that included heading a (£10 million) migration project (from ICL to Unix) leading an 80-strong team.

A six sigma black belt, Ian is also a Prince2 Practitioner and MSP Practitioner

Chris Wilshere has been appointed to head up the specialist liability loss adjusting business, Merlin Liability, formerly Sigma Claims Solutions, with immediate effect. Chris, who was previously UK Liability Manager at Crawford & Co, has been with the company since January 2004. He succeeds fellow directors Simon Burley and Owen Gorman who leave next year to pursue other interests.
