Contractors tee off to a great day

The Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club was the venue for the Merlin Contractor Golf Day, which was held on May 13th. The Golf day was a thank you from Merlin to the contractors, who are all part of Merlin’s network of contractors, for their excellent work and for the way they have worked with us to implement our new software, Xactware.
The weather forecast was dire, but unperturbed and waterproofs at the ready, 69 Golfers headed off onto the course for a friendly and somewhat competitive round on the Championship Arden course. The weather forecasters thankfully got it wrong, and despite a little bit of drizzle in the afternoon the weather was perfect for a game of golf!
All the players had the challenge of “Beating the Pro” Rob Brown on the 15th hole, and 5 players managed to do exactly that! Rob later further demonstrated his golfing skills with a “trick-shot-show” which was simply fantastic.
Following the golf, Richard Webster, CEO and John Watson, Merlin’s newly appointed Contractor Services Director, gave a short presentation on Merlin’s plans for the future and working together. This was followed by an excellent dinner and awards ceremony where prizes went to the winning team, 2nd and 3rd teams, overall winner, nearest the pin, longest drive and beat the pro.
The feedback from those who joined us has been excellent and as John Watson said at the event, “the entire day has been fantastic - all of us have enjoyed some friendly competition and I cannot fault the Forest of Arden and their staff. I really hope we can make this a yearly event” – a sentiment that got a loud cheer!
